Booking terms

A note about this document

This text is a starting draft. Where the services sold combine accommodation with transport or assistance, Spanish law treats them as a PACKAGE HOLIDAY, which carries specific requirements: registration as a travel agency with a licence number (CIAN), insolvency protection, and handing over a standard information form before the contract is made.

Before this page is published as final it must be reviewed by a professional and completed with the organising agency’s details, licence and insurance. Until then it describes how the service works; it is not a closed contract.

How a booking is requested

The website does not close bookings automatically and never asks for payment details. Submitting the form sends us a REQUEST: we check availability for your dates and reply with the confirmation and the final price.

You will receive an acknowledgement email with a reference. That email is not a booking confirmation.

Prices

The amounts shown are an estimate per person. Because the price depends on the season your dates fall in, the route page shows the cheapest rate as a "from" price; the final amount may be higher and is always confirmed in writing before anything is committed.

Prices include the services listed for each option and exclude anything not expressly listed, such as travel to the starting point, meals not stated, entry fees or personal expenses.

Payment

Payment is not taken through this website. The method, amount and deadlines are agreed when the booking is confirmed and set out in writing in the confirmation we send you.

Changes and cancellations

If you need to change dates, traveller numbers or accommodation, write to us as early as you can: we will do our best to move the booking, subject to availability and to the accommodation providers’ own terms.

The specific cancellation terms, including any charges depending on how far in advance you cancel, are set out in the booking confirmation before you accept it.

If we have to cancel because of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances, you will be told without delay and refunded the amounts you have paid.

What we expect from you

Walking the Camino requires a basic level of fitness and suitable clothing and footwear. It is your responsibility to judge whether the stages booked suit you, and to carry valid documentation.

We recommend taking out travel and assistance insurance. If you need adjustments for mobility, diet or health reasons, tell us when booking so we can confirm whether it is feasible.

Complaints

If something does not go as expected, tell us as soon as possible — while you are travelling if you can — so we can put it right. You can also write to caminogalicia.pt@gmail.com afterwards.

As a consumer you keep every right granted to you by Spanish and European legislation, including the option of turning to the relevant consumer protection bodies.
